A Homemade Christmas {Gift Ideas!}

I feel like I have about 25 projects in the works right now, and time is going by quickly but we are 21 days out from Christmas and I'm sure most of you are scrambling. No? Just me?

Well I have been debating, sewing, and organizing things and am happy to report I atleast know what everyone is getting for Christmas, except for my brother. If he's reading this, I need some ideas STAT or you're getting a homemade sweater. It will probably have antler ears on it. It will be awful. You've been warned.

So really quick, here are some ideas I've ran across and things you can make yourself super easily! Great for neices, cousins, teachers, random friends, etc.

For the little girl in your life, I have been loving Made For Mermaids free pattern releases this past week! Megan is doing 12 days of giveaways and I have been LOVING it!

I'm thinking mermaid blankets for every little girl I know? Super quick and easy to stitch up and you can even use fleece blankets from stores if you're not a fabric buying pro.

Hope the kids teachers don't read this blog, because they're all getting these coffee cozy's with gift cards.

Babies are also a big challenge for gifts for me, unless it's a baby shower with a registry. I got a few teething rings though and am planning to make a few of these bunny ear teethers for some babies in my life. Super simple and cute!
These are all super cute and easy and can be made with blankets from the store and scraps of fabric!

If you don't want to make, just buy, I am loving LuLaRoe lately! If you have a woman in your life that is tricky to buy for, some leggings or a Randy tee is a perfect option! They are super cute, comfy and versatile. The patterns might scare you for a minute, but once you have 1 item, you'll be sold.

If you need someone to buy LuLaRoe from, might I recommend my awesome friend, April. She turned me to the dark side of LLR obsessed. The tall and curvy leggings are my absolute favorite!

Ok, hope this helps. If you need help buying for a guy, you might need to find another blogger because I bought the world's most boring presents ever for Tom this year. I know he reads this, and he should set his expectations very low this year ;) Sorry, but I love you :)

Have any other great ideas you would like to share? Pleases comment and let me know!

{This post is not sponsored in any way but my Made for Mermaids is an affiliate link. Thanks for your understanding and helping me keep this lil blog a runnin'!}

Deck the Halls

I hope everyone is ready for Christmas!

We've been cooking and decorating and enjoying lots of relaxing time with family.

Because apparently now, my family members expect Christmas gifts from not only me and Tom, but also our children, we've been doing some craft projects around the house as "gifts". Because really, what is a 2 year old going to pick out as a Christmas gift? And I think the grandparents and great grandma much prefer some little keepsakes.

So the other day I whipped up some salt dough, we did a few hand and foot prints, plus a few random ornaments using cookie cutters, baked and painted them to get some cute little decorations and keepsakes for the family.

 Mistletoes. Cute!

Can you tell which ones I did vs which ones I let the twins paint?

Too obvious? We made the Santa handprint decorations last year for our tree, so it was nice to add them to my parents tree this year. I'm signing out until after Christmas. We have a lot of people home for the holidays and lots of fun things going on, but I'll be back to share all of our holiday fun after Christmas.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Pin The Halls

I'm happy to say, that before Thanksgiving even gets here, we are DONE shopping for the kids Christmas presents ;) shhh don't tell them where we hid them all!

With the holidays here, and my shopping out of the way, I'm excited to kick off some new projects, some fun things for the grandparents, some yummy goodies for friends and families and I want to share it all with you!

So I'm connecting the world, or atleast attempting to, with a new Pinterest board, Pin The Halls!

If you're cooking, crafting, or just found something you love, I'd love for you to share the link with me and I'll add it to my pin board! Check back frequently to see what kind of fun things I've added! If you're looking for some inspiration, follow my pinterest board, and my other boards, to see what I'm loving these days ;)

Once a week, I'll try to throw a round up of some of my favorites on here ;) So stay posted. Since no days of the week start with P, I can't do it Throwback Thursday style, but I'll try to get my favorite pins up every Thursday until Chrsitmas ;)
p.s. how cool was my Christmas project from 2011? The correct response is not cool at all, but bless your heart for trying ;)

Christmas Crafts

Hi, my name is Emily. I am NOT crafty WHATSOVER.

So naturally, for my first Christmas as a mom, I decided to take on a craft project. Duh.

I made a cute birthday present for Tom. And by MADE, I mean the nice people at Color Me Mine helped me attempt to color in small footprints and put the twins feet on a plate. But I was amazed with how much bigger their feet looked compared to their newborn feet.

So compared to many other baby feet, they probably look small but my idea of a small baby is completely thrown off.

So I thought their hands or feet might make cute ornament decorations.

In some ways, I was right, in other ways, glue and infants should never be combined.

My supplies....

+2 unruly children=
That's Jack's footprint.

It looks better in real life.

I did hands and feet for both of them, then used the glitter glue to write their names and Christmas 2011 on them.
I tried to take a few more pictures but you can't get the full idea with the pictures.

I swear they don't look as crappy as they might look in these pictures. They look...artsy.

Ok, they look like the twins did them themselves with none of my help. But I'm sure these will just be the first of many homemade masterpieces of ornaments we will have decking our halls and trimming our tree. It's the memories that count people.
