Thanks everyone for your thoughts while Jack Attack went under the knife! I'm happy to say everything went really well! No catheter was needed, as good of a repair as the doctor could have expected, no reactions to the medicines or anesthesia, and so far, he's been healing great at home!
It's so funny to see his pictures from last year and this year side by side...
He looks exactly the same, just a little bigger ;)
Things were off to a slow start because of some delays in the OR, we waited in pre op for what felt like an eternity, but that gave Jack plenty of time to let his happy juice kick in ;)
Don't worry, I got video of his craziness ;) He was so relaxed, he eventually fell asleep which made things a lot easier. When it was time for him to go back to the OR, he stayed asleep the whole time and I said my goodbyes and went back downstairs with Tom, Amelia and Ben to wait.
The surgery was quick since the repair was minimal, and he was done before we knew it. He didn't enjoy post op nearly as much as pre-op.
By the time we got home, he was perking up and wanting to eat and drink everything in site. He slept pretty well last night and only woke up crying because it hurt once. He is handling it all like a champ, I just have to keep his hands off of his incision site white he heals up ;)
Again, thanks for your thoughts and prayers! I'm glad this is done and hopefully it will be the last surgery, for real this time, for a long time!
