Halloween With 4 Kids

I love all of the baby firsts! This year we had another first Halloween and had fun celebrating with baby E, although she was still recovering from a nasty congestion/cold/thingamajig that caused gave her another first - her first ear infection.

Although things weren't quite as fun and exciting due to illness recovery, the kids still had a great time. So the costumes:

We had Marshall from Paw Patrol, Heatwave (rescue bot), and 2 Cinderellas.

I made the girls' costumes and bought the boys. Because who has time to make a Heatwave costume. Not I.

Eloise's congestion was in her eye so she was not exactly excited for her picture moments.

Being in the northern states (and away from 70 and sunny all year round SoCal) we found a few indoor trick or treat spots to hit up, although the night turned out being really nice and we did a little "traditional" door to door trick or treating too in town.

Overall, the kids had a lot of fun as usual. The twins are really getting the hang of it. This was the first year Ben really got it and enjoyed it. Eloise hung out and was carried around for the night but I'm sure she had fun too ;)

Hope your Halloween was as fun as ours!

Trick or Treating 2013

The week leading up to Halloween this year is almost a blur, it was so busy! We had so many fun events planned, looking back on pictures, I'm not even sure how we squeezed it all in! It gave the twins a lot of practice trick or treating and they LOVED wearing their costumes so it was fun to let them enjoy it!

First party of the week was at the YMCA. We've loved having a Y membership and the classes the kids get to participate in have been so much fun. They had a special Halloween party for kids under 5 and of course we had to go. They had coloring, games, balloon animals, a bounce house, a play area, and lots and lots of fun things for the kids to do.

Ben was a little young but he had fun climbing around ;)

We went trick or treating around the entire YMCA. Each workout area, office area, and the senior area in the back all had lots of stations for the kids to get candy from.
I made Tom take all the candy to work so I wouldn't eat it all but it was a fun first Halloween event ;)

Next up, our multiples club twin party! This is our 3rd year going and the first year the twins have been big enough to really enjoy. They ate pizza, played in the playground and the leaves, and had a great time with all of their twin friends.

Ben felt left out being a singleton ;)
and oh wait, there's more! The fall festival was on base the same day as the multiples party. We had to attend, because, obviously, how could we miss yet ANOTHER halloween event! They had bounce houses, food, all of our neighbors and friends were there and...oh yea...train rides. Guess what we did all day?
And finally, it was actually Halloween! Whoa, it felt like we'd never get there and be wearing our costumes for months ;) We had a great time just hanging out in our neighborhood for Halloween. My friend took pictures of the kids that turned out super cute!

We had a neighborhood potluck pre-trick or treating to fill the kids up with real food so they wouldn't pig out on candy!
and then we tricked and treated the night away! The twins did great! Ben and daddy stayed home to hand out candy. Jackson didn't want to stop when the night was over!

and then this happened...

 hilarous ;)

So we had a busy but super fun Halloween! It was great that the twins really understood what was going on, loved their costumes and all of their friends costumes, and we all just really enjoyed ourselves! We'll see what kind of excitement happens next year ;)

Disneyland Adventure

Ok, so I think I made a lot of people nervous saying I was taking the twins to Disneyland. With as little as they are, what was I thinking?

Honestly, best decision ever. So they might not have enjoyed it, but they were tiny enough, slept enough, were comfortable enough that we could enjoy the park and the decorations for Halloween and they could cuddle up with us and enjoy a little outing with mom and dad.

We kept them mostly in their stroller. We put the back down, and they both could lay in the back seat and cuddle up.
They really enjoyed that later as it got cooler, they just cuddled up next to each other and slept away.
We even took them on the Haunted Mansion ride, which was all done up Nightmare Before Christmas themed for the holiday, and Peter Pan.
Amelia was WIDE awake for the haunted mansion and LOVED it. She had the biggest eyes and would follow all the lights and look around for the noises. I had fun just watching her enjoy the ride!
Overall, it was a really nice evening, great weather, happy babies and we had a really great time.

The best part about Disney? They are SUPER kid and new mom friendly! There was a baby center for nursing, changing, they had space for me to pump, a kitchen sink area for me to clean up everything and clean up Jack's bottle. The nursing area was quiet and private and the other mom's there were so nice. We definitely didn't have the youngest babies there. It made it very comfortable for me to get everything done to feed and change them. LOVED it. Thank you Disney!

We might have to go back soon, for a whole day's trip.
